Public Health & Society invites applications for two Professor of Practice Positions
The School of Arts & Sciences at Washington University in St. Louis invites applications for two full-time, professors of practice in the newly established Program in Public Health & Society (PH&S), starting in August 2026 for the 2026-2027 academic year. This exciting opportunity will support the growth of the new major in Public Health & Society, developed in collaboration with the new School of Public Health. The position plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of public health education within a liberal arts context, advancing a transdisciplinary foundation across public health, natural and social sciences, arts, and humanities.
Applicants for the rank of professor of practice should have demonstrated mastery in the practice of their discipline and achieved regional or national prominence in the field. Outstanding teaching and service record commensurate with appointment at that rank are required. While professor of practice appointments carry the high standards of excellence, productivity, and professional contributions associated with other faculty appointments at the University, they do not include an expectation of research activities.
