Bio:
Vrushangi currently works at UCLA Health as the Program Manager for the Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Oncology Program. A program geared towards providing 15-39 year olds with the resources to supplement their oncology care. Prior to this role, she was the administrative fellow for hospital operations for UCLA Health. In the fellowship, she had the opportunity to complete projects across the health system such as market entry for International Health in Mexico, and Ambulatory Clinic Expansion strategy. Prior to joining UCLA, she completed her Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) degree from The University of Southern California (USC) and her Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration from Saint Louis University (SLU). At SLU, she was a Dr. King Scholar and founder & president of the Health Management and Policy Club.
During graduate school, Vrushangi completed a year-long residency at USC Verdugo Hills Hospital in the Office of Performance & Transformation with a major focus on surgical services. In the USC MHA Program, she placed in the Penn State/ Geisinger & Advocate Aurora Health case competitions. She served as the Co-President of the Healthcare Case Competition Club and hosted the inaugural USC MHA internal case competition sponsored by Keck Medicine of USC. During her last semester, she was awarded the MHA Outstanding Student Award in Recognition of Excellence in Service. Currently, she serves as the Podcast Host for the Fellowship Review with the American Journal of Healthcare Strategy with an aim of highlighting fellows around the US.
She annually speaks at graduate programs to bring awareness to health administration. Vrushangi has been a guest on various podcasts to highlight her journey in healthcare administration, and most recently was featured on the Becker’s Healthcare Podcast.
